Prairie Life

‘Prairie Life’ is an original print using a combination of two unusual techniques: mokulito (wood lithography) and waterless lithography. I also handcoloured the creature using watercolour. You can read more about mokulito in my short article here. The paper is a cotton rag paper, handmade in India by Khadi Papers and is 10.5 x 15 cm (A6 or postcard size). I prefer to float mount these prints so that the paper’s natural deckle edge remains visible. Because of the organic nature of the wooden plate (in this case maple), it is only possible to print small editions, and this is the last print in the edition of five. The print is sold unframed and will be posted flat-packed in a sturdy cardboard envelope.
